Administration

Beginning in 2011, the City of Iola has operated under the Mayor/ Council/ Administrator form of government. The Mayor and Council set policy, and a professional Administrator implements the policy while overseeing the day-to-day operations of the City. The Administrator develops an annual budget for the Council; hires and directs staff; researches community and organizational issues; attends to economic and community development matters, and makes recommendations on these activities for the City Council to discuss at their public meetings.
