Chamber Hotline
Our local financial institutions contact the Chamber when there are closed accounts, stolen checks, or other bank account unique circumstances. We are also contacted by law enforcement agencies in special situations. Chamber investors who are in our Hotline area are contacted within an hour after we receive information from the above institutions. This is a valued service to our Chamber investors.
Chamber Bucks
The Chamber Bucks program is an economic development program coordinated by our Chamber Organization. Special “bucks” are purchased at your Chamber office and those “bucks” can be spent as cash at Chamber member businesses only. Those participating businesses then redeem them for their face value by returning them to your Chamber office. Chamber investor businesses reap valuable dollars from this program. Most participating retail stores receive many times over their annual investment payment.
Marketing Opportunities
A variety of special marketing opportunities are presented to Chamber investor businesses. Advertising in and on Chamber mailings, promotional space at special events and a map project that is produced locally are available. Advertisement space on the map is available only to Chamber investor businesses. With this being the exclusive map distributed from your Chamber office, the main distributor of area maps, it will eventually be the only map produced for the area.
Business Referrals
Your Iola Area Chamber of Commerce is much better than a yellow page listing. An increasing number of folks give your Chamber office a call when looking for businesses and services rather than referring to the phone book or calling information. We gladly refer our investors! We also produce a Chamber Directory that is in a yellow pages format; however, we are investigating a new look where our directory would provide more information about each of our investors such as a short text of special services or product lines offered. This addition would make our directory a valuable resource to all area citizens, businesses and organizations.
These directories are particularly helpful to those who have recently relocated. Throughout the year folks thinking about relocating or who have relocated to our community contact your Chamber. One of the first items in the packets is our Chamber Directory. This will be the resource they turn to when needing a business or service as they learn about our business offerings. You will want to be included in this publication. |
