Iola Public Library
The Iola Public Library is governed by a Board appointed by the Mayor and City Council. The Board is responsible for setting policy, and the Library Director carries out the policy, tends to the day-to-day operation of the Library, and creates recommendations for the Board to consider.

Southeast Kansas Library System
Because Iola Public Library also houses the Southeast Kansas Library System (SEKLS), the number of holdings available to the public is substantially increased.
Genealogy
The Library's genealogy collection draws many users and visitors from other cities and states.
