Recreation Department
The Iola Recreation Department headed by a Recreation Director, employs an Assistant Recreation Director, assisted by a Recreation Administrative Assistant, and 50 seasonal employees. The Recreation Department is responsible for organizing all recreation activities, including the Municipal Pool, and Concession Stands operations and staffing, and Ball Field Maintenance.
The Iola Recreation Department offers a variety of activities for all ages. Programs, activities or classes are offered at various times throughout the year. Some activities include, but are not limited to; Senior-Cise, Quilting Group, Kansas Old Time Fiddlers, Pickers and Singers, Youth Dance Classes, Tai Chi Quan, Gymnastics, Pickleball Club, Horseshoe Pitching League, Bike Riding Group, Youth Spring Soccer Program, Youth Baseball and Softball Program, Swim Team, Women’s Slowpitch Softball, Youth Flag Football Program, Women’s Volleyball, Girl’s Volleyball, Youth Futsal Indoor Soccer Program, Youth Basketball Program, Co-ed Volleyball, Men’s Basketball.
Reduced Rate Theme Park Tickets
Tickets are available at the Recreation Office, during the operating season of the specific location, for the following attractions:
Oceans of Fun tickets are available the end of May through Labor Day.
Worlds of Fun tickets are available the middle of April through the middle of September.
Silver Dollar City tickets are available mid March through the end of December.
White Water tickets are available the end of May through Labor Day.
