  1. Easter Candy Hunt

    Please join us for the Annual Easter Candy Hunt on Saturday, April 20 at 9:00 am. Meet at the Recreation Building at Riverside Park. Ages 12 years of age and younger may participate. Make sure to register for prize give-a-ways beginning at 8:40 am. Prizes to be given away immediately following the Candy Hunt, must be present to win. The candy is courtesy of Russell Stover Candies, and prizes are courtesy of Iola Recreation. Please bring a basket or bag for your goodies! A shout-out of "Thanks" to our special helpers from the Iola Police Dept.

  2. Summer Ball Registration Final Deadline

    April 22, 2019, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM @ City Hall

    BALL LEAGUE DIVISIONS: Girls T-Ball: Play t-ball. Girls who will be 3 & not be 5 before 1-1-2019. Junior Pixie: Pitching machine, will also use a hitting tee. Girls who will be 5 & not be 7 before 1-1-2019. Pixie: Pitching machine. Girls who will be 7 & not be 9 before 1-1-2019. Pigtail: Pitching machine. Girls who will be 9 & not be 11 before 1-1-2019. Junior Ponytail: Live pitching. Girls who will be 11 & not be 14 before 1-1-2019. Ponytail: Live pitching, will travel. Girls who will be 14 & not be 16 before 6-1-2019. Boys T-Ball: Play t-ball, no score will be kept. Boys who will be 3 & not be 5 before 5-1-2019. Jr. Bitty Ball: Pitching machine, will also use a hitting tee.   4. The Scotts Pitch, Hit and Run Competition

    April 22, 2019, 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM @ Riverside Park

    Participants, in all four age divisions, may compete anytime between 6:30-8:30 pm. Individual competition time takes about 15 minutes. All boys and girls ages 7-14 may participate. Age as of July 17, 2019. Boys and girls compete separately in age divisions: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14. Register online at https://pitchhitrun.leagueapps.com/events/961579. No metal spikes are allowed. All other equipment needed for competition will be provided. Participants may use their own bat. Any type of bat is acceptable.

  5. Noon Yoga Session Begins

    April 29, 2019, 12:15 PM - 12:45 PM @ Dr. John Silas Bass North Community Center

    Build strength, increase flexibility and balance with focused breathing, holding yoga poses, & moving through flows. Students may bring a towel, water and a yoga mat. Yoga block & strap suggested equipment. Monday and Thursday afternoons beginning April 29, from 12:15-12:45 pm. Class Dates: April 29, May 2, 6, 9, 13, 16, 20, 23 & 30 and June 3. All classes will be held at the Dr. John Silas Bass North Community Center located at 505 N. Buckeye St. Monday and Thursday afternoon Yoga five week session cost is $40.00. ** Would you like to give it a try? Join us for one class, it’s just $5.00! All fitness levels welcome. Ages 16 & 17 may attend classes with a release signed by a parent or guardian. Please see your doctor and bring a medical release for exercise if you’ve been injured or have a medical condition that limits exercise. Need at least 5 registered participants to hold classes, otherwise the class will be canceled.
