  1. Youth Flag Football Late Registration Deadline

    August 30, 2019, All Day @ City Utilities Office

    Play recreational flag football on age division teams. Flag football is open to all boys and girls in 1st through 5th grades. Practice days and times will be scheduled by the team coaches. Games will be played on Thursday evenings at Ball Diamond #3 in Riverside Park, Iola. Games are tentatively scheduled to begin September 19th, the season should conclude toward the end of October. *Players must provide their own mouthpiece. Registration Fee, July 17th – August 16th, $25.00 each player or $60.00 per family of 3 or more players. Late Registration Fee, August 17th –August 30th, $35.00 each player or $80.00 per family of 3 or more players. Register online or at the Recreation Office by August 30th. The Recreation Office is currently located at the City Utilities Office at 2 W.   2. Pickleball Club

    August 30, 2019, 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM @ Meadowbrook Park

    Year around. During the spring & summer months, the club meets on week nights, 5:30 pm, at the Meadowbrook Tennis Courts, N. Cottonwood St., Iola. They meet when the outside temperature is over 55, courts aren't wet and the wind is tolerable. Ages 15 and older may participate. Pickleball is a combination of Ping-Pong, tennis and badminton and has been enjoyed since 1965 by people of all ages. This mini-tennis game is played by 2 or 4 people on a badminton sized court using wood paddle racquets and a plastic, poly baseball with holes.
